I purchased a dell latitude laptop which is fairly expensive. It is my 3rd dell purchase. I have had nothing but problems with this computer since day 1. Shortly after purchase, there was major issues with the computer and they had to replace a mother board. After that I've had to change 4 or 5 hard drives on it and now it has a hard drive issue again. I phoned in and told them I am through trying to fix this computer, as it's costing me nothing but time and money. They attempted to tell me they would send out another hard drive and I told them that's it, it's ridiculous trying to replace the hard drive again. My warranty is done on July/2010 and I know that if I get the hard drive replaced again it will only last a few months at best. They suggested changing the mother board and hard drive, which is better; however, I told them that they should at the very least extend the warranty period because if it breaks it may do so just after my warranty is up. They basically told me too bad. I think I should be entitled to a computer replacement but they feel that my scenario does not meet their requirements for a system replacement. They said they would only replace if the computer breaks before the warranty period AGAIN. I know that what will probably happen is that they will fix it and it will last until just after the warranty period and then I am on my own. I asked any rep their if they'd be happy with this scenario and they said definitely NO. They can't do anything about it though and the managers and supervisors simply are trying to bounce me around between their divisions (i.e. the tech dept. says that custermer support needs to help me and customer support says that tech dept. needs to help me). I've been bounced around dozens of times and it seems like they will do nothing for me. This is upsetting, as anyone with an ounce of common sense and any company with a single iota of customer service and pride and confidence with their products would arrange for a system replacement or at the very least extend the warranty period, as this computer has costed me at least double now and I've had to endure the problems since purchased. I've spent countless hours with dell reps and spend too much money trying to fix a computer that constantly has problems.
