Everything was going good but last Wednesday my computer will not start properly it will go to the windows load screen and will not get past that. I was waiting for the Free upgrade that I was supposed to receive for Windows 7 when I purchased my new computer. When it never came I contacted the service department and was told that I had to register my software at a site. (Something I was NEVER informed of). They also claimed to have sent out emails informing those eligible about the need to register. (An email I never received). Now, you can no longer register and the offer is no longer available. I was told by the Dell sales agent that I may return my new Dell Studio laptop to the company within 30 days of purchase without any restock fees, without shipping fees, etc., for any reason.
Dell customer service and tech. support tell me otherwise. I am told that my return does not qualify for return without a 15% restock fee...even though parts are not working correctly.

I purchased a Dell Vostro 1000 computer, It overheated the first time I used it and ran for about 5 minutes,then shut down. I told them her the monitor display was going in and out on my computer and that my husband thought it was the video card. My warranty was still active but expiring in a few days.

I just finished calling Dell to fix a simple shipping problem. Nine transfers and three hours later they could not figure out how to fix it. The facts are as follows. Acting on a recent promotion advertised in my Sunday paper, I placed an order directly with Dell on Sunday afternoon. The Dell circular promised shipping by the next business day (after order) and free two-day business shipping.
