  • Dell computer problems and used hard drive

    I am 63 and don%u2019t have the time or elevated blood pressure to deal any longer with Dell. I had ordered my second Dell Computer a Inspiron 17 5000 series touch screen. My first dell laptop was a 4 year old Dell 1764 and according to Dell%u2019s web site the hard drive was not functioning correctly. I also decided to purchase a new hard drive from Dell for the old computer as a backup.   • Need computer fixed

    I bought my computer Sept 2009 with Sam's club which in turn bought it from dell. Everything was going good but last Wednesday my computer will not start properly it will go to the windows load screen and will not get past that. That same day I called dell customer service and let me tell you the WORST customer service ever.   • Upgrade

    I was waiting for the Free upgrade that I was supposed to receive for Windows 7 when I purchased my new computer. When it never came I contacted the service department and was told that I had to register my software at a site. (Something I was NEVER informed of). They also claimed to have sent out emails informing those eligible about the need to register. (An email I never received). Now, you can no longer register and the offer is no longer available.   • Poor customer service at dell

    I purchased a dell latitude laptop which is fairly expensive. It is my 3rd dell purchase. I have had nothing but problems with this computer since day 1. Shortly after purchase, there was major issues with the computer and they had to replace a mother board. After that I've had to change 4 or 5 hard drives on it and now it has a hard drive issue again.     I purchased a Dell Vostro 1000 computer, It overheated the first time I used it and ran for about 5 minutes,then shut down. Returned it under warranty, received a used reconditioned computer, same exact problem, returned it and received a third dysfunctional computer with a bad hard drive, warranty expired, never able to use computer.The service people do not speak enough english to intelligently communicate and the software that was returned with the computer was replaced with the wrong software.   • Notebook repair complaint

    I'm not sure Dell cares...I had a defective product right from the start...the problem is still happening, but now the warranty has expired. Why should I have to pay money for repairs when I had the same complaint right after I purchased the product. The notebook randomly restarts no matter what application is being used.   • Dell Can't Fix a Simple Problem

    I just finished calling Dell to fix a simple shipping problem. Nine transfers and three hours later they could not figure out how to fix it. The facts are as follows. Son bought Dell laptop about 3 years ago while living in CA. Son now living in UT shipped laptop to Dell for repair and gave Dell his UT address for return shipping. Dell sends laptop to CA anyway.     I bought a Dell Inspiron 531 with Vista Premium about a year and a half ago. I have spent so much time on the phone talking to dell technicians about the constantly occuring problems, so that I am about ready to go to Apple PC's.     Dell Computer seems to be taking two steps forward and three steps back in terms of customer satisfaction. Acting on a recent promotion advertised in my Sunday paper, I placed an order directly with Dell on Sunday afternoon.     We purchased a Dell Inspiron 1720 in February and on the following day, the problems started. My laptop has worked trouble-free about 90% of the time. I have tried to deal with Dell Tech Support.     I received a letter from Dell Computers to extend my warranty on my XPS 720 3 years for $249. and receive $50. in Dell Dollars back to be used for future purchases from Dell Home $ Home Office.
